Stirling bull sale success

Our team of four Charolais and two Simmental bulls headed to the October Stirling bull sales and all found their way to new homes. Topping our Cardean Charolais run at 6800gns was April-born Saxon, by the herd sire Goldies Noelle and out of a very influential dam line in the herd, he makes his way to the Newlands family in Aberdeenshire.

Following at 5500gns was March-born Storm, standing third in the pre-sale judging and another son of Noelle, he is out of a homebred Maerdy Henley daughter. He headed to his new home in Wales.

Two April-born Springbok and Sporran both realised 3800gns; firstly Springbok, out of Cardean Moneypenny who goes back to the easy calving line of Wesley Equinox, he headed away to Orkney Island. Following him was Sporran, again like his pen mate, also gaining third in the pre-sale judging and going back to the same dam line as Storm. His new home is now away to Glenbuchat, Aberdeenshire.

Four Charolais’ away to an average of £5223.

Strathisla Mandarin

Over in the Simmental pens both Strathisla Minder and Mandarin headed for new beginnings.

First up was May-born Strathisla Mandarin at 7000gns. Standing third in the pre-sale judging and having both his sire and dam classified EX, he caught the eye of the Hollingsworth family and headed to their Sheffield-based Midhope herd.

Next was Strathisla Minder, this March-born lad was the first son of Ranfurly Jackall to be offered for sale. He headed to Orkney with Steven Sandison.
